The solicitors responsible for the sale by auction of Buzzacott Hall took the following photographs. The key purpose was to distinguish the part of the drive that formed part of the Hall's grounds, roughly from Nos. 35/37 southwards and the rest, for which there was purely a right of way.
26 November - This is taken from the boundary, looking south towards the Hall, along the driveway it owned.
26 November - This is taken in the opposite direction. An accompanying letter points out the gate at the top of the drive and the cottage across the road. This photo and some of the rest show clearly there was some significant clearing of the roadside trees going on at the time. I assume this was as a precursor to building the first Crouch houses.
27 November - This is similar to the one before but was taken the following day. 1954 had suffered a very wet autumn, and the evening before it had obviously rained again.
26 November:- This is taken looking south but now further up the drive, around Nos. 15/17 perhaps?
27 November:- this final picture (after the rain!) is also looking down towards the Hall. The Hall's drive starts where the "SLOW" sign can be seen (just) to the left of the car.
